This fine Italian Thrash Metal band has roots back to early 2000, when the band was founded due to a casual encounter between Claudio Rampini and Francesco Notarangelo. In june 2002 they released their first demo ' Demo2002', and the band went on an italian club tour.

Current lineup:
Ivan Clavarella - Vocals
Claudio Rampinini - Guitars
Paolo Migliore - Bass
Daniel Martini - Drums

Servant Of God

The first track, 'Child', starts off with some amazing and energetic drum-rolls accompnied by fast thrashing riffs in good oldschool thrash vein, before it evolves into a mosh-marathon with breaks and melodic soloes, just the way a Trash Metal tune used to be like back in the old days. 'False Liberi' starts of with a clean guitar sound before the intro fades into a cascade of mosh! The song is a great example of how to mix hardcore/punk influences with Thrash Metal, and the result is a powerful ,aggressive, and yet heavy as hell. The tilte track starts of with a Black Sabbath'ish riff before the song evolves into a mid tempo Thrash song as done by Metallica in the mid 80's. 'Back to the violence' is another fine piece of Thrash Metal. The song is fueled with energetic riffs and tempo changes, all accompanied by aggressive vocals. You almost get an Exodus feeling of this track, due to the use of chorus. 'Burn World' starts off as an accoustic ballad, but Kernel wants it otherwise. The nice and listenable accoustics evolves into one of the heaviest riffs I've heard in a long time, all accompanied with almost Iron Maiden like melody lines. But the band knows exactly when to change tempo and the song evolves into another Thrash Metal classic. 'Charity' is another song that starts of with a powerful and heavy, almostĀ  doomish riff, before a cascade of violence are poured over the listener with speed and aggression. 'Rebel yourself' shows the listener that this is band that is not afraid of mixing genres. There are some very clear references to punk/hardcore in this song, but they are done in a metal way. 'Il mio destino' are for me the most dissapointing song on the cd. For me the song feels like a ripoff of Metallica's 'st. anger'. I'm not saying it is a rip off, but it feels like it is, even the drum sound reminds me of st.anger. 'Rage and destroy' brings me back in the right mood with great riffing aggressive vocals and some great choruses. A great finale for a great album!

This is one of those underground records that could become a cult classic. The sound is great, the musicianship is amazing and most important, the songs are great. You really should head over and visit http://www.myspace.com/kernelthrash and show your support to this great Thrash Metal band.
